Single wide and double wide homes look similar from the outside but they level differently. A single wide is one continuous chassis with two main I-beams. A double wide is two halves joined at a marriage wall, with a shared load path that has to line up for the interior to hold together.

On a single wide, leveling is a matter of bringing each pier along the two main beams back to a common reference, then correcting perimeter support where needed. Uneven single wides typically show up as sticking doors on one end and sloped floors along the long axis.

On a double wide, the marriage line is the tell. If one half has dropped relative to the other, you see cracks in ceiling trim right down the center, gaps at the top of the marriage wall, and doors between the two halves that stop closing. Correcting a double wide means leveling both halves individually and then bringing the marriage line into alignment, in that order.

Both jobs use the same laser and jacking approach: measure everything against a common reference, lift in small increments, correct the pier or shim, and re-check before moving on. Double wides simply have more pier points and the added marriage-line step. That is why they tend to take longer.

We do this work across Greenville and Hunt County on homes of all ages, from older 12-foot-wide singles to modern 32-foot-wide doubles.
